Canned motor and vacuum pump

A canned motor to be coupled to a vacuum pump and used as a rotary driving source for the vacuum pump, the canned motor comprising:

• a stator core;
• a rotor provided on an inner side of the stator core;
• and
• a can provided between the stator core and the rotor, the can being configured to separate the stator core and the rotor from each other, the can including a barrel portion having a hollow shape and extending in a direction of a rotation center axis line of the rotor, and an opening portion for forming an opening of the barrel portion on a first side directly coupled to the vacuum pump in the direction of the rotation center axis line,
• wherein the opening portion is formed to have a flange shape including:
• a first part formed to extend from the barrel portion toward the outer side of the can in the direction crossing the direction of the rotation center axis line;
• and
• a second part formed to extend from the first part toward the first side,
• the opening portion includes ribs formed in the circumferential direction of the can at spaced positions between the first part and the second part,
• the stator core and the rotor are separated from each other in a hermetically sealed manner by the can and an O-ring, the O-ring provided on an outer surface of the second part of the opening portion of the can along a circumferential direction and compressed in the direction crossing the direction of the rotation center axis line,
• at least part of the ribs and the O-ring are provided on a line crossing the direction of the rotation center axis line, and
• the can is formed of resin, and a thickness of each of the first part and the second part is equal to or larger than the thickness of the barrel portion, and equal to or smaller than twice the thickness of the barrel portion.
