Method for manufacturing stator of rotary electric machine including a cassette coil

A method for manufacturing a stator of a rotary electric machine, the stator including a stator core and a wire coil, the method comprising:

• providing the stator core including teeth that are projected from an annular stator yoke to a radially inner side;
• forming each cassette coil of a plurality of cassette coils by concentrically winding a rectangular wire for a specified number of turns, wherein the rectangular wire of each cassette coil has a starting end and a finish end, and applying a shift amount, with respect to an axis in a winding direction, to a wire shape of at least one of the specified number of turns before each cassette coil is attached to the teeth of the stator core;
• attaching each cassette coil of the plurality of cassette coils to each of the teeth of the stator core, while eliminating the shift amount of each cassette coil of the plurality of cassette coils, thereby causing a reactionary force between each cassette coil of the plurality of cassette coils and each of the teeth;
• and
• forming the wire coil by connecting adjacent ones of the cassette coils of a same phase to each other by connecting the starting end of the rectangular wire of one of the plurality of cassette coils to the finish end of the rectangular wire of an adjacent one of the plurality of cassette coils of the same phase until each of the cassette coils is connected to form the wire coil.
