Dynamic updating of content based on gaming-application context

A gaming system comprising:

• one or more processor;
• an electronic display device;
• and
• a memory storage device configured to store instructions, which when executed by the processor, cause the gaming system to perform operations for controlling the gaming system, the instructions comprising
• instructions to provide, for presentation via the electronic display device, first digital content for a first application that is independent from a second application that concurrently presents second digital content via the electronic display device concurrently;
• instructions to intercept, by the first application, data associated with the second digital content;
• instructions to determine, via at least one of the processors and based on the data, a relationship between the first digital content and the second digital content, and
• instructions to cause the second application to modify presentation of the second digital content in response to the determination of the relationship.
