Abstract
A transmitter assembly is useful in optimizing in the delivery of wireless power to a plurality of receivers. Each receiver measures its own battery need for power and transmits that measurement as a request to the transmitter. The transmitter is configured to normalize and compare battery need requests. The transmitter then allocates pulses of wireless power among the requesting receivers according to their battery need.
Claims20
A wireless power transmission apparatus comprising:
- allocation means for allocating wireless power pulses among wireless power receivers in accordance with battery charging requests received from one or more of the wireless power receivers;
- and
- control means for directing multiple antennas of an antenna array to transmit the allocated wireless power pulses to different ones of the wireless power receivers by modifying phases of at least a subset of the multiple antennas.
An apparatus comprising:
- one or more computer readable storage media;
- and
- program instructions stored on the one or more computer readable storage media, wherein the program instructions, when executed by a processing system, direct the processing system to:
- allocate wireless power pulses among wireless power receivers in accordance with battery charging requests received from one or more of the wireless power receivers;
- and
- direct multiple antennas of an antenna array to transmit the allocated wireless power pulses to different ones of the wireless power receivers by modifying phases of at least a subset of the multiple antennas.
