Remote controlled extension cord with embedded housing for a remote control

An extension cord apparatus, the apparatus comprising:

• a socket unit comprising a plurality of individual sockets;
• a microprocessor connected to the plurality of individual sockets and configured to control power to the plurality of individual sockets;
• and
• a remote control separate from the socket unit and adapted to communicate wirelessly with the microprocessor, the remote control comprising a slider and a plurality of socket buttons, each of the plurality of socket buttons corresponding to a respective socket out of the plurality of individual sockets,
• the apparatus configured to utilize the plurality of socket buttons and the slider to control the plurality of individual sockets by being configured to receive a press of a selected socket button out of the plurality of socket buttons and enable the slider to implement a dimming function by controlling an amount of power provided to a selected socket which corresponds to the selected socket button,
• wherein the apparatus is configured such that each of the plurality of individual sockets has its own respective power value enabling each of the plurality of individual sockets to receive a different amount of power.
