Liquid crystal display device

A liquid crystal display device comprising:

• a display panel formed of a plurality subpixels;
• a data driver configured to supply of data voltages to the plurality of subpixels and reverse a polarity of the data voltages according to a cycle;
• and
• wherein the plurality of subpixels are arranged such that:
• first-color subpixels are arranged at positions where (4i+1)th row lines and odd-numbered column lines intersect with a negative polarity and at positions where the (4i+3)th row lines and the even-numbered column lines intersect with a negative polarity,
• second-color subpixels are arranged at positions where the (4i+1)th row lines and even-numbered column lines intersect with a negative polarity and at positions where (4i+3)th row lines and the odd-numbered column lines intersect with a negative polarity,
• third-color subpixels are arranged at positions where (4i+2)th row lines and the odd-numbered column lines intersect with a positive polarity and at positions where the (4i+4)th row lines and the even-numbered column lines intersect with a positive polarity,
• fourth-color subpixels are arranged at positions where the (4i+2)th row lines and the even-numbered column lines intersect with a negative polarity and fourth-color subpixels are arranged at positions where (4i+4)th row lines and the odd-numbered column lines intersect with a negative polarity, and
• i is an integer greater than or equal to zero.

A liquid crystal display device comprising:

• a plurality of data lines;
• a plurality of gate lines intersecting the plurality of data lines;
• a pixel array including a plurality of subpixels formed of first-color subpixels, second-color subpixels, third-color subpixels, and fourth-color subpixels, the plurality of subpixels having one of a first arrangement and a second arrangement, the first arrangement being an arrangement in which in each row of the pixel array two of the first-color to fourth-color subpixels are interleaved, the second arrangement being a different arrangement than the first arrangement in which in each row of the pixel array two of the first-color to fourth-color subpixels are interleaved,
• wherein the first-color subpixels are arranged at positions where (4i+1)th row lines and odd-numbered column lines intersect with a negative polarity, the second-color subpixels are arranged at positions where the (4i+1)th row lines and even-numbered column lines intersect with a negative polarity, the third-color subpixels are arranged at positions where (4i+2)th row lines and the odd-numbered column lines intersect with a positive polarity, the fourth-color subpixels are arranged at positions where the (4i+2)th row lines and the even-numbered column lines intersect with a negative polarity, the second-color subpixels are arranged at positions where (4i+3)th row lines and the odd-numbered column lines intersect with a negative polarity, the first-color subpixels are arranged at positions where the (4i+3)th row lines and the even-numbered column lines intersect with a negative polarity, the fourth-color subpixels are arranged at positions where (4i+4)th row lines and the odd-numbered column lines intersect with a negative polarity, and the third-color subpixels are arranged at positions where the (4i+4)th row lines and the even-numbered column lines intersect with a positive polarity, wherein i is an integer greater than or equal to zero;
• a data driver configured to,
• drive the pixel array according to a first driving method when the pixel array has the first arrangement, and
• drive the pixel array according to at least one second driving method that is
• different from the first driving method when the pixel array has the second arrangement;
• and
• a gate driver configured to supply gate pulses to the plurality of gate lines in synchronization with data voltages supplied by the data driver.
