Lighting system

A lighting fixture comprising:

• a light source mounted to at least one component mounting structure;
• a diffuser mounted to the at least one component mounting structure to provide the light emission end of the light fixture;
• end caps engaged to ends of the at least one component mounting structure and the diffuser to encapsulate the light source;
• a motion sensor present on at least one of the end caps;
• and
• a processing device connected to the at least one component mounting structure configured to adjust a level of light emitted by the light source in response to signals received from the motion sensor, wherein a first fastener comprising a flexible elongated member to removably couple the light fixture to a mounting fixture in an extended configuration, and a second fastener to removably couple the light fixture to the mounting fixture in a retracted configuration, wherein an entirety of the first fastener is enclosed within a mounting fixture space between a first face of the component mounting structure and the mounting fixture when in the retracted configuration, the mounting fixture space being separate from the space containing the light source that is present between a second face of the component mounting structure and the diffuser.
