Abstract
Nucleic acids sequences that can be used for nucleic acid amplification, for example quantitative nucleic acid amplification, are provided herein.

A composition comprising:
- a polynucleotide comprising a sequence at least 97% identical to the sequence of SEQ ID NO:
- 1;
- a forward primer comprising an oligonucleotide at least 85% identical to SEQ ID NO:
- 3 or 5;
- a reverse primer comprising an oligonucleotide at least 85% identical to SEQ ID NO:
- 4 or 6;
- a single-stranded oligonucleotide probe comprising a detectable moiety attached thereto and a sequence at least 85% identical to SEQ ID NO:
- 2;
- and
- a sample, wherein the sample does not comprise genomic DNA of the genus Drosophila.
