Claims4
A method of manufacturing a fire extinguishing foam comprising the steps of:
- providing a concentrate comprising a surfactant containing at least one substituted or unsubstituted carbohydrate or carbohydrate derivative and at least one oligosilane,
- wherein the surfactant comprises a molecule that is selected from the group consisting of:
- or mixtures thereof,
- wherein A is a substituted or unsubstituted carbohydrate or carbohydrate derivative comprising one to twenty sugar units, B represents a linker substructure of at least one atom or chain, C is an oligosilane or oxacarbosilane, and D is an oligosiloxane;
- diluting the concentrate with water;
- mixing the diluted concentrate to form a diluted mixture;
- and
- aerating the diluted mixture to form a fire extinguishing foam.
