Prosthesis for partial and total joint replacement

A prosthetic hinge elbow joint, the prosthetic hinge elbow joint defining an axis of rotation, the prosthetic hinge elbow joint comprising:

• a humeral component that is structured for attachment to a first bone, the humeral component defining a hole therein, the hole having a pair of open ends, one of the open ends being disposed on one side of the axis of rotation, the other of the open ends being disposed on the other side of the axis of rotation, the hole being dimensioned and configured to receive an autograft or allograft ligament reconstruction member passing completely therethrough when the prosthetic elbow joint is assembled within a patient;
• the humeral component including a spool, the hole for receiving the ligament reconstruction member being defined at least partially within the spool;
• and
• an ulnar component that is structured for attachment to a second bone, the ulnar component including a ligament retention member, the ligament retention member being secured to the ulnar component in a manner that permits compressing a portion of an autograft or allograft ligament reconstruction member between the ligament retention member and the second bone;
• whereby the autograft or allograft ligament reconstruction member is retained therein and permitted to incorporate with an exterior surface of the second bone.
