Abstract
A method of producing a security document includes the steps of producing a first part of a color image by color laser marking a security document precursor; and producing a second part of the color image by a second imaging technique different from laser marking. The resulting security document is more difficult to falsify.
Claims17
A method of producing a security document, the method comprising the steps of:
- producing a first portion of a colour image by laser marking a security document precursor including a laser markable layer containing a leuco dye;
- and
- producing a second portion of the colour image by an imaging technique that is different from laser marking;
- wherein
- the first portion and the second portion of the colour image are in color registration with each other to form a single image.
