Inflation devices for intragastric devices with improved attachment and detachment and associated systems and methods

A method of inflating an intragastric device, the method comprising:

• connecting an inflation device with a proximal cap of an intragastric device, wherein an outer detent of the inflation device is mated around the proximal cap, and wherein an inner detent of the inflation device is mated against a portion of the proximal cap, and wherein the proximal cap has a flanged section;
• inserting a barb of the inflation device into an inflation port of the intragastric device such that the flanged section of the proximal cap expands into the outer detent;
• delivering the intragastric device to a gastric cavity;
• flowing a fluid into the intragastric device via the barb and the inflation port, wherein a balloon of the intragastric device is inflated with the fluid;
• retracting the barb from the inflation port;
• and
• removing the outer detent from around the proximal cap and the inner detent from against the proximal cap to disconnect the inflation device from the proximal cap.
