Electronic device and method for setting communication protocol

An electronic device comprising:

• a first communication interface configured to support a licensed band and an unlicensed band;
• a second communication interface configured to support the unlicensed band without supporting the licensed band;
• and
• a processor,
• wherein the processor is configured to:
• verify a first communication protocol available by the first communication interface or the second communication interface,
• verify a second communication protocol available by a communication network connected with a corresponding communication interface of the first communication interface or the second communication interface,
• verify first attribute information associated with a first channel corresponding to the first communication protocol,
• verify second attribute information associated with a second channel corresponding to the second communication protocol, and
• determine a protocol, which is to be active with respect to the unlicensed band, of the first communication protocol or the second communication protocol based on the first attribute information and the second attribute information,
• wherein if the first communication protocol is selected, the processor is configured to aggregate the first LTE signal and the second LTE signal processed by the first communication circuit, and
• wherein if the second communication protocol is selected, the processor is configured to aggregate the first LTE signal processed by the first communication circuit and the Wi-Fi signal processed by the second communication circuit.

An electronic device comprising:

• first communication circuitry configured to support a long-term evolution (LTE) protocol;
• second communication circuitry configured to support a Wi-Fi communication;
• a first antenna configured to transmit and/or receive signals of a first frequency band;
• a second antenna configured to transmit and/or receive signals of a second frequency band corresponding to a 5 Ghz frequency band;
• and
• a processor electrically connected with the first communication circuitry and the second communication circuitry, wherein the processor is configured to:
• control the first communication circuitry to connect a primary cell (PCell) to communicate first LTE signals of the first frequency band using the first antenna;
• control the first communication circuitry to connect a secondary cell (SCell) to receive second LTE signals of the second frequency band using the second antenna;
• perform a carrier aggregation of the LTE protocol using the first LTE signals and the second LTE signals;
• while the first communication circuitry is connected to the PCell and the SCell, identify the second communication circuitry being changed to a connected state with an Wi-Fi access point (AP), the second communication circuitry being associated with Wi-Fi communication in the 5 Ghz frequency band using the second antenna;
• and
• in response to the identifying of the second communication circuitry being changed to the connected state, control the first communication circuitry to transmit a channel quality indicator (CQI) report of “0” to the SCell.

A communication scheme setting method of an electronic device including first communication circuitry configured to support a long-term evolution (LTE) protocol, second communication circuitry configured to support a Wi-Fi communication, a first antenna configured to transmit and/or receive a first frequency band, a second antenna configured to transmit and/or receive a second frequency band corresponding to a 5 Ghz frequency band, and a processor electrically connected with the first communication circuitry and the second communication circuitry, the method comprising:

• controlling the first communication circuitry to connect a primary cell (PCell) to communicate first LTE signals of the first frequency band using the first antenna;
• controlling the first communication circuitry to connect a secondary cell (SCell) to receive second LTE signals of the second frequency band using the second antenna;
• perform a carrier aggregation of the LTE protocol using the first LTE signals and the second LTE signals;
• while the first communication circuitry is connected to the PCell and the SCell, identifying the second communication circuitry being changed to a connected state with an Wj-Fi access point (AP), the second communication circuitry being associated with Wi-Fi communication in the 5 Ghz frequency band using the second antenna;
• and
• in response to the identifying the second communication circuitry being changed to the connected state, controlling the first communication circuitry to transmit a channel quality indicator (CQI) report of “0” to the SCell.

A non-transitory computer-readable recording medium storing instructions of a communication scheme setting method of an electronic device including first communication circuitry configured to support a long-term evolution (LTE) protocol, second communication circuitry configured to support a Wi-Fi communication, a first antenna configured to transmit and/or receive a first frequency band, a second antenna configured to transmit and/or receive a second frequency band corresponding to a 5 GHz frequency band, and a processor electrically connected with the first communication circuitry and the second communication circuitry, wherein the instructions, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to perform operations comprising:

• controlling the first communication circuitry to connect a primary cell (PCell) to communicate first LTE signals of the first frequency band using the first antenna;
• controlling the first communication circuitry to connect a secondary cell (SCell) to receive second LTE signals of the second frequency band using the second antenna;
• perform a carrier aggregation of the LTE protocol using the first LTE signals and the second LTE signals;
• while the first communication circuitry is connected to the PCell and the SCell, identifying the second communication circuitry being changed to a connected state with an Wi-Fi access point (AP), the second communication circuitry being associated with Wi-Fi communication in the 5 Ghz frequency band using the second antenna;
• and
• in response to the identifying the second communication circuitry being changed to the connected state, controlling the first communication circuitry to transmit a channel quality indicator (CQI) report of “0” to the SCell.

A chipset comprising:

• first communication circuitry configured to support a long-term evolution (LTE) protocol;
• second communication circuitry configured to support a Wi-Fi communication;
• and
• a processor electrically connected with the first communication circuitry and the second communication circuitry, wherein the processor is configured to:
• control the first communication circuitry to be connected with a primary cell (PCell) of a first frequency band;
• control the first communication circuitry to connect a secondary cell (SCell) of a second frequency band;
• perform a carrier aggregation of the LTE protocol using first LTE signals within the first frequency band and second LTE signal within the second frequency band;
• while the first communication circuitry is connected to the PCell and the SCell, identify the second communication circuitry being changed to a connected state with an Wi-Fi access point (AP), the second communication circuitry being associated with the Wi-Fi communication in a 5 Ghz frequency band;
• and
• in response to the identifying the second communication circuitry being changed to the connected state, control the first communication circuitry to transmit a channel quality indicator (CQI) report of “0” to the SCell.
