Abstract
Compounds within formula ##STR1## and their salts wherein X is alkylene of 2-4 carbon atoms; R.sub.1 is hydrogen or alkyl of 1-6 carbon atoms; R.sub.2 is hydrogen, alkyl of 1-6 carbon atoms or benzyl, or R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 together with the nitrogen atom to which they are attached form a 5-, 6- or 7-membered saturated ring; R.sub.3 is aryl; R.sub.4 is hydrogen or alkyl of 1-4 carbon atoms; and R.sub.5 is hydrogen or alkyl of 1-4 carbon atoms; have been found to possess mood-modifying and anorexia inducing activity.
Claims8
A compound of the formula:
- ##STR32## or a pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salt thereof wherein X is alkylene of 2-4 carbon atoms;
- R.sub.1 is hydrogen or alkyl of 1-6 carbon atoms;
- R.sub.2 is hydrogen, alkyl of 1-6 carbon atoms or benzyl;
- R.sub.3 is 1-naphthyl or 2-naphthyl;
- R.sub.4 is hydrogen or alkyl of 1-4 carbon atoms;
- and
- R.sub.5 is hydrogen or alkyl of 1-4 carbon atoms.
A compound of the formula:
- ##STR33## or a pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salt thereof wherein R.sub.10 is hydrogen, methyl or ethyl,
- R.sub.11 is methyl or ethyl, and
- R.sub.12 is 1-naphthyl or 2-naphthyl.
The compound 2,2-dimethyl-7-methylaminoethoxy-4-(2-naphthyl)chroman or a pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salt thereof.
The compound 2,2-dimethyl-7-dimethylaminoethoxy-4-(2-naphthyl)chroman or a pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salt thereof.
