Abstract
A method is provided for treating ischemia in a mammalian species by administering a combination of a calcium channel blocker such as diltiazem, SQ 31,765 or SQ 32,324 and a thromoboxane A.sub.2 receptor antagonist such as SQ 30,741 or a thromboxane synthetase inhibitor such as dazoxiben.
Claims11
A method for treating ischemia and/or reducing myocardial infarct size in a mammalian specie, which comprises administering to a mammalian specie in need of such treatment an effective amount of a combination of a calcium channel blocker and a thromboxane A.sub.2 receptor antagonist employed in a weight ratio to each other of from about 0.1:1 to about 10:1.
A combination useful for treating ischemia comprising a calcium channel blocker and a thromboxane A.sub.2 receptor antagonist employed in a weight ratio to each other from about 0.1:1 to about 10:1.
The method as defined in claim 10 wherein the thromboxane A.sub.2 receptor antagonist is a 7-oxabicycloheptane substituted diamide prostaglandin analog.
