Abstract
Disclosed are the use of fluorine substituted olefins, including tetra- and penta-fluoropropenes, in a variety of applications, including in methods of depositing catalyst on a solid support, methods of sterilizing articles, cleaning methods and compositions, methods of applying medicaments, fire extinguishing/suppression compositions and methods, flavor formulations, fragrance formulations and inflating agents.

A method of transferring heat to, or from, a fluid or body, said method comprising contacting said fluid or body with a heat transfer composition comprising a refrigerant comprising HFO-1234ze, wherein the HFO-1234ze is at least 90% by weight transHFO-1234ze.
A heat transfer composition comprising a refrigerant and another component wherein the refrigerant comprises HFO-1234ze and wherein the HFO-1234ze is at least 90% by weight transHFO-1234ze, and wherein the other component is selected from the group consisting of a lubricant, a compatibilizer, a surfactant, a solubilizing agent, a flammability suppressant and mixtures thereof.
