Abstract
An attachment received from a webclient for a message in composition can be saved by an HTTP server in a storage system. Location information for the attachment can be stored in a database in a record associated with the webclient. If the HTTP server is unexpectedly unavailable, a backup HTTP server can locate the attachment using the record in the database and provide the attachment to a messaging server when the user is ready to send the message.
Claims22
A method comprising:
- receiving, at a first HTTP server from a webclient, an attachment associated with an email;
- storing, by the first HTTP server on a storage device, the attachment;
- storing, by the first HTTP server on a database, storage device location information for the attachment;
- receiving a request for service at a second HTTP server from the webclient;
- determining, at the second HTTP server, identification information for the webclient;
- retrieving, by the second HTTP server from the database, the storage device location information;
- retrieving the attachment by the second HTTP server from the storage device using the storage device location information;
- and
- transmitting the attachment to a mail server.
A system, comprising:
- a memory comprising instructions;
- and
- a processor coupled to the memory, wherein the processor, when executing the instructions, effectuates operations comprising:
- receiving a request for service from a webclient that has established a communications session with a server that is no longer accessible;
- determining identification information for the webclient;
- retrieving storage device location information for an attachment;
- retrieving the attachment from a storage device using the storage device location information;
- and
- transmitting the attachment to a messaging server.
A computer-implemented method comprising:
- receiving, at a hypertext transfer protocol (HTTP) server, from a webclient, an attachment associated with a message composed on the webclient;
- storing, by the HTTP server on a storage device accessible by a second HTTP server, the attachment;
- and
- storing, by the HTTP server, storage device location information for the attachment.
A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium comprising computer-executable instructions, which when executed by a processor, cause a processor to effectuate operations comprising:
- receiving a request for service from a webclient that has established a communications session with a server that is no longer accessible;
- determining identification information for the webclient;
- retrieving storage device location information for an attachment;
- retrieving the attachment from a storage device using the storage device location information;
- and
- transmitting the attachment to a messaging server.
