Optical line terminal communication method and device with data structure

A method for performing a network management in an optical line terminal (OLT), comprising:

• communicating, by said OLT, with one or more first optical network units (ONUs) over a first channel at a first wavelength of said PON through a passive optical network (PON);
• sending, by said OLT, a notification for a first ONU of said one or more first ONUs to a destination OLT with said notification comprising:
• a first PON identifier (PON-ID) associated with said OLT;
• a second PON-ID associated with said destination OLT receiving said notification, said destination OLT being configured to communicate over a second channel at a second wavelength of said PON;
• and
• an ONU identifier associated with said first ONU.

A method for performing a network management in an optical line terminal (OLT), said method comprising:

• communicating, by said OLT, with one or more first ONUs over a first channel at a first wavelength of a passive optical network (PON);
• receiving, by said OLT, a notification sent by a source OLT of said PON with said notification comprising:
• a first PON identifier (PON-ID) associated with said source OLT that is configured to communicate with a first ONU over a second channel at a second wavelength of said PON;
• a second PON-ID associated with a destination OLT receiving said notification;
• and
• an ONU identifier associated with said first ONU.
