Abstract
The invention relates to a process for the production of electrolyte capacitors having a low equivalent series resistance and low residual current for high nominal voltages, electrolyte capacitors produced by this process and the use of such electrolyte capacitors.
Claims33
An electrolyte capacitor having a solid electrolyte comprising conductive polymers and a nominal voltage of greater than 15 V, wherein the ratio of its break-through voltage (in volt) to the quotient of is oxide film thickness (in nm) and the layer formation factor of the oxide (in nm/V) is greater than 0.4, wherein the conductive polymer employed as the solid electrolyte is a cationic polythiophene which contains polymeric anions as counter-ions for charge compensation, the cationic polythiophene and the polymeric anion being present in the form of a polythiophene/polymeric anion complex, wherein the polymeric anion is an anion of polystyrenesulfonic acid (PSS) and wherein the conductive polymer of the solid electrolyte is poly(3,4-ethlenedioxythiophene)-homopolymer.
