Abstract
Disclosed herein is a display apparatus including: a first pixel including three sub-pixels for displaying three primary colors respectively; and a second pixel including three sub-pixels for displaying two colors selected among the three primary colors and a predetermined color other than the three primary colors, wherein, in the first pixel, the size of the display surface of a sub-pixel for displaying a specific color included in the three primary colors as a specific color missing from the second pixel is larger than each of the sizes of the display surfaces of the two other sub-pixels for displaying the two other primary colors respectively.
Claims12
A display apparatus comprising
- a plurality of pixels arranged in a matrix including a first direction and a second direction intersecting the first direction, each of the pixels respectively including:
- a first sub-pixel for displaying a first primary color;
- a second sub-pixel for displaying a second primary color;
- and
- a third sub-pixel for displaying a third primary color;
- and
- a fourth sub-pixel for displaying a fourth color other than the first primary color, the second primary color, and the third primary color,
- wherein, in each of the pixels, the first sub-pixel, the second sub-pixel, the third sub-pixel, and the fourth sub-pixel are arranged in this order in the first direction;
- wherein an area of the third sub-pixel is smaller than an area of the second sub-pixel and is larger than half of the area of the second sub-pixel;
- and
- wherein an area of the fourth sub-pixel is smaller than the area of the second sub-pixel and is larger than half of the area of the second sub-pixel,
- wherein a combined area of the third sub-pixel and the fourth sub-pixel is smaller than twice the area of the second sub-pixel and is larger than the area of the second sub-pixel, and the area of the third sub-pixel is smaller than the area of the second sub-pixel.
A display apparatus comprising:
- a plurality of pixels arranged in a matrix including a first direction and a second direction intersecting the first direction, each of the pixels respectively including;
- a first sub-pixel for displaying a first primary color, the first sub-pixel having a first width in the first direction;
- a second sub-pixel for displaying a second primary color, the second sub-pixel having a second width in the first direction;
- a third sub-pixel for displaying a third primary color, the third sub-pixel having a third width in the first direction;
- and
- a fourth sub-pixel for displaying a fourth color other than the first primary color, the second primary color, and the third primary color, the fourth sub-pixel having a fourth width in the first direction,
- wherein, in each of the pixels, the first sub-pixel, the second sub-pixel, the third sub-pixel, and the fourth sub-pixel are arranged in this order in the first direction;
- wherein the third width is smaller than the second width and is greater than half of the second width;
- and
- wherein the fourth width is smaller than the second width and greater than half of the second width,
- wherein a combined width of the third width and the fourth width is smaller than twice the second width and is greater than the second width, and the third width is smaller than the second width.
