Abstract
A noise detector, a method of detecting noise and an analysis/alert engine. In one embodiment, the noise detector includes: (1) a vibration sensor configured to derive a raw signal from noise proximate the noise detector and (2) a noise score generator having a processor and memory, coupled to the vibration sensor and configured to generate a noise score from the raw signal, the noise score being insufficient to reproduce a content of the raw signal.
Claims18
A noise detector, comprising:
- a vibration sensor configured to derive a raw signal from noise proximate said noise detector, wherein said raw signal has properties that include voltage, current, power, and time;
- and
- a noise score generator having a processor and memory, coupled to said vibration sensor and configured to generate a noise score based on said voltage, said current, said power, and said time, said noise score being insufficient to reproduce a content of said raw signal.
A method of detecting noise, comprising:
- deriving a raw signal having physical properties from noise proximate a noise detector, wherein said physical properties include voltage, current, power, and time;
- and
- generating a noise score based on at least two of said physical properties, said noise score being insufficient to reproduce a content of said raw signal.
An analysis/alert engine, comprising:
- a noise score receiver couplable to a network and configured to receive therefrom at least one noise score from a noise detector, wherein said noise detector derives a raw signal having multiple properties from noise proximate said noise detector and generates said noise score from said multiple properties;
- a noise score evaluator having a processor, a memory and a host database, associated with said noise score receiver and configured to evaluate said at least one noise score to determine if said at least one noise score should cause an alert to be generated and a destination alert device for said alert;
- and
- an alert transmitter, associated with said noise score evaluator and configured to transmit an alert to said destination alert device.
