Abstract
The present invention relates to novolac vinyl esters useful as thermal resistance conferring components for anaerobic curable compositions, and anaerobic curable compositions having such novolac vinyl esters. The compositions are particularly useful as adhesives and sealants.
Claims19
An anaerobic curable composition comprising:
- (a) a (meth)acrylate component;
- (b) an anaerobic cure system;
- and
- (c) a reaction product of a novolac epoxy resin and an acid embraced by the structure below:
- wherein R is H or CH3;
- X is H, C2H4COOH, or
- wherein Y is C2H4COOH or C2H2COOH.
4 more elements
A method of preparing an anaerobic curable composition, comprising mixing a meth(acrylate) component, an anaerobic cure system and the reaction product of a novolac epoxy resin and an acid embraced by the structure below:
- wherein R is H or CH3;
- X is H, C2H4COOH, or
- wherein Y is C2H4COOH or C2H2COOH.
