A method of treatment of dementia, comprising administering in an amount effective to treat dementia to a subject in need thereof a pharmaceutical composition comprising spinosin, wherein the pharmaceutical composition comprises at least one selected from the group consisting of an extract of Zizyphus jujuba Mill var. inermis, an extract of Zizyphus jujuba Mill var. hoonensis, an extract of Zizyphus jujuba Mill var. spinosa, an extract of Passiflora edulis flavicarpa, an extract of Cayaponia tayuya, an extract of Desmodium tortuosum, an extract of Wilbrandia ebracteata, an extract of Strophioblachia fimbricalyx, an extract of Clutia abyssinica and an extract of Saccharopolyspora spinosa.
