The present invention relates to the use of Volasertib or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof or the hydrate thereof for treating myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS).

A method of treating myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) comprising administering to a patient a therapeutically effective amount of Volasertib, optionally in the form of a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof or a hydrate thereof.
