Abstract
The present invention is to provide a sheet aligning apparatus that is capable of detecting misalignment. A control portion of a post-processing apparatus causes a front aligning member and a rear aligning member to be moved to an aligning position to align sheets conveyed to a processing tray, causes the front aligning member to be moved from the aligning position to a detecting position, and determines whether an electrostatic capacitance sensor detects misalignment (sheet shifting from a sheet bundle). When it is determined that the sensor detects misalignment, the front aligning member is moved from the detecting position to the aligning position so that sheets are realigned.
Claims13
A sheet aligning apparatus, comprising:
- a sheet stack portion on which a sheet is to be stacked;
- a pair of aligning members that includes an aligning portion protruding upwardly from the sheet stack portion and that is configured to press a sheet conveyed to the sheet stack portion in a direction perpendicular to a sheet conveying direction and to align the sheet at an aligning position, with the aligning portion;
- a moving device that is configured to move the pair of aligning members between the aligning position and a non-aligning position;
- and
- a detecting device that is configured to detect shifting of a sheet from a sheet bundle, at the aligning position, aligned as misalignment.
An image forming system, comprising:
- an image forming portion configured to form an image on a sheet;
- a sheet stack portion on which the sheet with the image formed by the image forming portion is to be stacked;
- a pair of aligning members that includes an aligning portion protruding upwardly from the sheet stack portion and that is configured to press a sheet conveyed to the sheet stack portion in a direction perpendicular to a sheet conveying direction and to align the sheet at an aligning position, with the aligning portion;
- a moving device that is configured to move the pair of aligning members between the aligning position and a non-aligning position;
- and
- a detecting device that is configured to detect shifting of a sheet from a sheet bundle, at the aligning position, aligned as misalignment.
A sheet post-processing apparatus, comprising:
- a sheet stack portion on which a sheet is to be stacked;
- a pair of aligning members that includes an aligning portion protruding upwardly from the sheet stack portion and that is configured to press a sheet conveyed to the sheet stack portion in a direction perpendicular to a sheet conveying direction and to align the sheet at an aligning position, with the aligning portion;
- a moving device that is configured to move the pair of aligning members between the aligning position and a non-aligning position;
- and
- a detecting device that is configured to detect shifting of a sheet from a sheet bundle, at the aligning position, aligned as misalignment.
