A therapeutic composition, comprising a pharmaceutically-acceptable carrier and an antibody or antigen-binding fragment thereof that exhibits binding specificity for an isolated aminoacyl-tRNA synthetase (AARS) polypeptide that consists of SEQ ID NO:
- 32 or 20 or an epitope comprising at least 5 amino acids selected from SEQ ID NO:
- 17, 19, and 29, wherein the composition has a purity of at least about 90% on a protein basis and less than about 10 EU endotoxin/mg protein.
