Abstract
A nitric oxide generator generates nitric oxide from a mixture of nitrogen and oxygen such as air treated by a pulsating electrical discharge. The desired concentration of nitric oxide is obtained by controlling at least one of a frequency of the pulsating electrical discharge and duration of each electrical discharge pulse.
Claims9
A consumable filter assembly comprising:
- an inlet filter port;
- an outlet filter port;
- a chamber extending between the inlet filter port and outlet filter port containing filter material configured to reduce nitrogen dioxide from a gas passing through the filter assembly while leaving the nitric oxide concentration substantially unchanged;
- a memory device integrated with the filter assembly that stores one or more parameters selected from a group consisting of:
- and initial filter capacity, a current filter capacity, time the filter had been in use, and time the filter has left available;
- and
- a memory device interface integrated with the filter assembly configured to connect the memory device to a nitric oxide delivery apparatus.
