System detection and flow control

A non-transitory computer program product comprising a computer readable storage medium having computer readable program code embodied therewith, the computer readable program code including computer instructions, where at least one processor, responsive to executing the computer instructions, performs operations comprising:

• acquiring a throughput and a response time of a system, wherein the throughput reflects the number of requests from outside of the system that has been processed by the system, and the response time reflects time required by the system to process requests from outside of the system, wherein the acquiring throughput and response time of the system comprises:
• directly sampling the throughput and the response time of the system;
• and
• conducting noise filtering on the sampled throughput and response time;
• obtaining a system performance characteristic parameter based on the throughput and the response time, the system performance characteristic parameter being used to describe congestion condition of the system, and the system performance characteristic parameter being based on the noise filtered throughput and response time;
• and
• determining that there is a bottleneck in the system based on the system performance characteristic parameter.
