A polynucleotide consisting of the nucleotide sequence of the formula:
- 5′-NxX1X2X3X4X5X6-3′, wherein each of N, X1, X2, X3 and X4, is a nucleotide or nucleotide analog, X5X6 is II, x is an integer from 0 to 50, Nx comprises a TTC trinucleotide located at the 5′ end of the polynucleotide and the polynucleotide does not comprise a CG dinucleotide.
A method of inhibiting an immune response in an individual, the method comprising:
- administering to the individual, a pharmaceutical composition in an amount effective to inhibit the immune response in the individual, wherein the pharmaceutical composition comprises a pharmaceutically acceptable excipient and a polynucleotide consisting of the nucleotide sequence of the formula:
- 5′-NxX1X2X3X4X5X6-3′, wherein each of N, X1, X2, X3 and X4, is a nucleotide or nucleotide analog, X5X6 is II, x is an integer from 0 to 50, Nx comprises a TTC trinucleotide located at the 5′ end of the polynucleotide and the polynucleotide does not comprise a CG dinucleotide.
