Abstract
The invention generally relates to novel polymers and polymeric nanogels having biodegradable polymeric backbones, and compositions and methods of preparation and use thereof, for example, as guest-host polymer nano-assemblies and nano-delivery vehicles, which offer utilities in diverse fields including drug delivery, diagnostics and specialty materials.
Claims4
A crosslinked biodegradable polymer comprising a polymeric backbone biodegradable into small molecules in response to a relevant biological, physical or chemical stimuli, wherein the polymer comprises the structure of:
- wherein
- each p is independently an integer from about 1 to about 6,
- each m is independently an integer from about 1 to about 6,
- each of x and y is independently a positive number, z is zero or a positive number,
- R1 is a charge-neutral hydrophilic group,
- R2 comprises a crosslinking moiety, and
- R3 comprises a non-crosslinking group.
A crosslinked polyamide nanogel, wherein the nanogel comprises the structure of:
- each of x, y and z is independently a positive number.
Dependencies are inferred from the claim text.
