Abstract
A novel, mutated Salmonella enterica serovar Typhimurium vaccine is generated and imparts protective immunity in vaccinated animals for a range of S. enterica serovars. The vaccine can be attenuated or inactivated, including bacterial ghosts or membrane fractions thereof. Immunogenic compositions are included in the invention and methods of generating an immune response.
Claims23
A mutated S. enterica serovar Typhimurium comprising a null mutation in invR, micA, rybB, rfaH, omrA and omrB genes.
An immunogenic composition comprising a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier or diluent and a mutated S. enterica serovar Typhimurium comprising a null mutation in invR, micA, rybB, rfaH, omrA and omrB genes.
A kit comprising a first container comprising a mutated S. enterica serovar Typhimurium;
- a second container comprising a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier or diluent;
- written instructions for use;
- and optionally a third container comprising an adjuvant, wherein said mutated S. enterica serovar Typhimurium comprises a null mutation in invR, micA, rybB, rfaH, omrA and omrB genes.
An immunogenic composition comprising a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier or diluent and a membrane fraction of a mutated S. enterica serovar Typhimurium comprising a null mutation in invR, micA, rybB, rfaH, omrA and omrB genes.
