Abstract
According to the invention, there is provided seed and plants of the hybrid corn variety designated CH334255. The invention thus relates to the plants, seeds and tissue cultures of the variety CH334255, and to methods for producing a corn plant produced by crossing a corn plant of variety CH334255 with itself or with another corn plant, such as a plant of another variety. The invention further relates to genetic complements of plants of variety CH334255.
Claims21
A seed of hybrid corn variety CH334255, produced by crossing a first plant of variety CV780360 with a second plant of variety CV180173, wherein representative seed of said varieties CV780360 and CV180173 have been deposited under ATCC Accession numbers PTA-122121 and PTA-123824, respectively.
A seed of hybrid corn variety CH334255 further comprising a first single locus conversion, wherein the seed is produced by crossing a first plant of variety CV780360 with a second plant of variety CV180173, wherein representative seed of said varieties CV780360 and CV180173 have been deposited under ATCC Accession numbers PTA-122121 and PTA-123824, respectively, and wherein one or both of the first plant and second plant further comprises said first single locus conversion, and wherein a plant grown from said seed comprises a trait conferred by said first single locus conversion.
A method of introducing a heritable trait into hybrid corn variety CH334255 comprising the steps of:
- (a) introducing at least the heritable trait into at least a first inbred corn variety selected from the group consisting of variety CV780360 and variety CV180173 to produce a plant of the first inbred corn variety that heritably carries the heritable trait, wherein the heritable trait is introduced into said first inbred corn variety by backcrossing and wherein representative samples of seed of variety CV780360 and variety CV180173 have been deposited under ATCC Accession numbers PTA-122121 and PTA-123824, respectively;
- and
- (b) crossing the plant of the first inbred corn variety that heritably carries the heritable trait with a plant of a different variety selected from said group consisting of CV780360 and CV180173 to produce a plant of said hybrid corn variety CH334255 further comprising at least the heritable trait.
