System, method and computer program product for gathering and delivering personalized user information

A system, comprising:

• a processor;
• and
• a memory configured to communicate with the processor, the memory having instructions stored thereon that are executable by the processor to cause the system to perform operations comprising:
• storing account information for a plurality of accounts of an information distribution network, wherein the account information includes personal information for ones of the plurality of accounts, including a first account and a second account, wherein the account information indicates, for the first account, a subset of accounts of the plurality of accounts that are associated with the first account within the information distribution network, and wherein the first account and the second account are unassociated within the information distribution network;
• determining an information feed to be presented to the first account via the information distribution network, wherein content in the information feed includes personal information from accounts in the subset of the plurality of accounts associated with the first account, and does not include personal information from the second account;
• receiving, via the first account, a request to update a set of associations for the first account to include an association between the first account and the second account;
• after receiving the request, updating the account information by creating an association between the first account and the second account;
• and
• determining a subsequent information feed to be presented to the first account via the information distribution network, wherein content in the subsequent information feed includes personal information from the second account.

An article of manufacture including a non-transitory computer readable medium having instructions stored thereon that are executable to cause a computer system to perform operations comprising:

• storing account information corresponding to a plurality of accounts of an information distribution network, wherein the account information includes personal information for ones of the plurality of accounts, including a first account and a second account, wherein the account information indicates, for the first account, a subset of the plurality of accounts that are associated with the first account within the information distribution network, and wherein the first account and the second account are unassociated within the information distribution network;
• determining an information feed to be presented to the first account via the information distribution network, wherein content in the information feed includes personal information from accounts in the subset of the plurality of accounts associated with the first account, and does not include personal information from the second account;
• receiving a request, via the first account, to update a set of associations for the first account to include an association with the second account;
• after receiving the request, updating the account information by associating the first account with the second account;
• and
• determining a subsequent information feed to be presented to the first account via the information distribution network, wherein content in the subsequent information feed includes personal information from the second account.
