Abstract
The disclosed subject matter includes techniques for delaying network frames. In some examples, a system for delaying network frames can include a processor and a computer-readable memory storage device for storing executable instructions that can be executed by the processor to cause the processor to identify a network frame to be transmitted to a host device at a client device. The processor can also delay transmission of the network frame to the host device based at least on the network information and a frame deadline.
Claims13
A system for delaying network frames, comprising a client device, the client device comprising:
- a processor;
- and
- a computer-readable memory storage device storing executable instructions that, based on an execution by the processor, cause the processor to:
- identify a network frame to be transmitted to a host device from the client device;
- delay transmission of the network frame to the host device based at least on network information and a frame deadline;
- predict a probability that a downlink frame for the client device is at the host device, based on previously received frames from the host device;
- and
- transmit the network frame to the host device in response to detecting the predicted probability exceeds a threshold probability.
A method for delaying network frames, comprising:
- identifying a network frame to be transmitted to a host device from a client device;
- delaying transmission of the network frame to the host device based at least on network information and a frame deadline;
- predicting a probability that a downlink frame for the client device is at the host device, based on previously received frames from the host device;
- and
- transmitting the network frame to the host device in response to detecting the predicted probability exceeds a threshold probability.
