Claims15
A display device, comprising:
- a display panel configured to display an image;
- a sound element on a rear side of the display panel;
- and
- a rear chassis configured to receive the display panel and protect the rear side of the display panel, the rear chassis defining a rear surface thereof which overlaps the display panel, wherein the rear surface of the rear chasses defines:
- a first rear surface thereof which faces and overlaps the display panel,
- the first rear surface protruding away from the rear side of the display panel to form a protruding portion of the rear chassis in which the sound element is disposed, the protruding portion defining a second rear surface of the rear chassis which faces and overlaps the display panel and is in a different plane than the first rear surface, and
- a plurality of open portions each defined extending into a thickness of the rear surface of the rear chassis, wherein
- in a top plan view,
- a shape of the protruding portion defines a boundary between the first and second rear surfaces in different planes from each other, and
- the plurality of open portions are arranged parallel to the boundary between the first and second rear surfaces in different planes from each other, and
- the sound element comprises a pair of electrodes, and a vibration material layer between the electrodes.
