Abstract
An example separator includes a spacer section that fits between a first battery cell and a second battery cell, a projection from the spacer section that contacts a structure to limit upward movement of the spacer section, and a restraining tab from the spacer section that limits upward movement of the first battery cell, the second battery cell, or both relative to the spacer section.
Claims19
A battery pack, comprising:
- a spacer section between a first and second battery cell;
- a projection from the spacer section that contacts a structure to limit upward movement of the spacer section, the projection having a hook shape with an upwardly extending portion outside the structure, the upwardly extending portion and the spacer section on opposite sides of the structure;
- and
- a restraining tab from the spacer section that limits upward movement of the first battery cell, the second battery cell, or both relative to the spacer section.

A battery pack, comprising:
- a spacer section that fits between a first and second battery cell disposed on a cold plate;
- a restraining tab that extends from the spacer section and biases the first and second battery cells against the cold plate;
- and
- a projection having a hook shape with an upwardly extending portion outside the structure, the upwardly extending portion and the spacer section on opposite sides of the structure, the projection extending from the spacer section to contact a structure to limit movement of the spacer section and the restraining tab away from the cold plate.
