Abstract
An apparatus for conveying money items, which is configured to singulate money items during conveyance, sense characteristics of money items during conveyance and eject money items from a conveyor.
Claims20
A money item conveying system comprising:
- a conveyor configured to convey money items along a conveyor path, the conveyor comprising a longitudinal edge and an angled conveying support against which an edge of a primary money item is located during conveyance;
- and
- a guide located adjacent to the longitudinal edge of the conveyor and configured to support the money item to remain on the conveyor while the angled conveying support urges primary money items against the guide as the primary money items are conveyed, and
- wherein the guide comprises an agitating region configured to agitate movement of surplus money items away from the guide and off the conveyor in order to isolate the primary money item on the conveyor.

A method for a money item conveying system, the method comprising:
- conveying, on a conveyor, money items along a conveyor path using an angled conveying support against which an edge of a primary money item is located during conveyance;
- and
- supporting, along a guide located adjacent to a longitudinal edge of the conveyor, the money item to remain on the conveyor while the angled conveying support urges primary money items against the guide as the primary money items are conveyed, and
- agitating, in an agitating region of the guide, movement of surplus money items away from the guide and off the conveyor in order to isolate the primary money item on the conveyor.
