Abstract
According to one aspect, a computer system configured to access distributed data is provided. The system comprising a memory including a plurality of data sources, a plurality of processors, and a pattern matching component executed by at least one processor of the plurality of processors and configured to execute a query execution plan using a first processor of the plurality of processors concurrently with a second processor of the plurality of processors, wherein the first processor processes a first data source of the plurality of data sources identified in the query execution plan and the second processor processes a second data source of the plurality of data sources identified in the query execution plan.

A computer system configured to access related and distributed data, the computer system comprising:
- a memory including:
- at least one relational database including a plurality of tables, the plurality of tables including a first table and a second table;
- a query execution plan identifying the plurality of tables;
- and
- a plurality of buffers including a first buffer and a second buffer;
- and
- a plurality of processors coupled to the memory and including a first processor and a second processor distinct from the first processor, the plurality of processors being collectively configured to execute the query execution plan at least in part by
- assigning the first buffer to the first processor,
- retrieving, via the first processor, first data from the first table,
- storing, via the first processor, the first data in the first buffer,
- reassigning the first buffer to the second processor,
- assigning the second buffer to the first processor,
- retrieving, via the first processor, second data from the first table, the second data being distinct from the first data, and
- storing, via the first processor, the second data in the second buffer while concurrently identifying, via the second processor using the first data, third data stored in the second table, the third data being distinct from the first data and the second data.
A data access method executed by a computer system including a plurality of processors, the plurality of processors including a first processor and a second processor, the method comprising:
- identifying a plurality of tables in at least one relational database referenced in a query execution plan, the plurality of tables including a first table and a second table;
- identifying a plurality of buffers including a first buffer and a second buffer;
- and
- executing the query execution plan at least in part by
- assigning the first buffer to the first processor,
- retrieving, via the first processor, first data from the first table,
- storing, via the first processor, the first data in the first buffer,
- reassigning the first buffer to the second processor,
- assigning the second buffer to the first processor,
- retrieving, via the first processor, second data from the first table, the second data being distinct from the first data, and
- storing, via the first processor, the second data in the second buffer while concurrently identifying, via the second processor using the first data, third data stored in the second table, the third data being distinct from the first data and the second data.
A non-transitory computer readable medium having a program stored therein configured to access related and distributed data, the program being executable by a computer system including a plurality of processors and a plurality of buffers including a first buffer and a second buffer, the plurality of processors including a first processor and a second processor, the program comprising:
- instructions configured to identify a plurality of tables in at least one relational database referenced in a query execution plan, the plurality of tables including a first table and a second table;
- and
- instructions configured to execute the query execution plan at least in part by
- assigning the first buffer to the first processor,
- retrieving, via the first processor, first data from the first table,
- storing, via the first processor, the first data in the first buffer,
- reassigning the first buffer to the second processor,
- assigning the second buffer to the first processor,
- retrieving, via the first processor, second data from the first table, the second data being distinct from the first data, and
- storing, via the first processor, the second data in the second buffer while concurrently identifying, via the second processor using the first data, third data stored in the second table, the third data being distinct from the first data and the second data.
