Flash controller to provide a value that represents a parameter to a flash memory

A memory controller to control a flash memory, comprising:

• a first interface to receive configuration information from a first module that includes a first plurality of flash memory devices on the first module;
• a second interface to transmit data to the first plurality of flash memory devices;
• a register to store a value that determines a drive strength of the second interface, the value to be based on the configuration information from the first module.

A memory controller to control a flash memory, comprising:

• an external interface to couple to a plurality of removable modules that each include a respective plurality of flash memory devices;
• a register to determine a drive strength setting of a plurality of transmitters connected to the external interface, the drive strength setting to be based on configuration information received from the plurality of removable modules.
