Abstract
A method of making an optical body an optical body is disclosed. The method includes coextruding a first skin layer and a first strippable skin layer on a first side of an optical layer. The first skin layer is disposed between the optical layer and the first strippable skin layer. The first skin layer includes a mixture of a polyacrylate and a second polymer which may or may not be miscible in the polyacrylate. The second polymer may be an anti-static polymer.
Claims19
A method of making an optical body, comprising:
- coextruding a first skin layer comprising a dimensionally stable blend skin layer consisting essentially of a mixture of a polyacrylate and a second polymer, wherein the second polymer consists of an antistatic polymer, a functionalized copolymer, or an elastomer, and is present in a range from 1 to 40 weight percent, and a first strippable skin layer on a first side of an optical layer comprising polyester, such that the first skin layer is disposed between the optical layer and the first strippable skin layer, and such that the first strippable layer is applied to the first skin layer.
A method of making an optical body, comprising:
- coextruding a plurality of polymer layers including a first group of polymer layers and a first skin layer, the first group of polymer layers forming a multilayer optical stack that includes an optical layer comprising polyester, and the first skin layer consisting essentially of a mixture of a polyacrylate and a second polymer, wherein the second polymer comprises an antistatic polymer, a functionalized copolymer, or an elastomer, and is present in a range from 1 to 40 weight percent;
- and applying a first strippable skin layer to the first skin layer such that the first skin layer is disposed between the optical layer and the first strippable skin layer.
