Abstract
According to the invention, there is provided seed and plants of the hybrid corn variety designated CH370204. The invention thus relates to the plants, seeds and tissue cultures of the variety CH370204, and to methods for producing a corn plant produced by crossing a corn plant of variety CH370204 with itself or with another corn plant, such as a plant of another variety. The invention further relates to genetic complements of plants of variety CH370204.
Claims21
A seed of hybrid corn variety CH370204, produced by crossing a first plant of variety CV209625 with a second plant of variety CV871614, wherein representative seed of said varieties CV209625 and CV871614 have been deposited under ATCC Accession numbers PTA-123810 and PTA-123820, respectively.
A seed of hybrid corn variety CH370204 further comprising a single locus conversion, wherein the seed is produced by crossing a first plant of variety CV209625 with a second plant of variety CV871614, wherein representative seed of said varieties CV209625 and CV871614 have been deposited under ATCC Accession numbers PTA-123810 and PTA-123820, respectively, and wherein one or both of the first plant and second plant further comprises said single locus conversion, and wherein a plant grown from said seed comprises a trait conferred by said single locus conversion and otherwise comprises all of the morphological and physiological characteristics of hybrid corn variety CH370204.
A method of introducing a heritable trait into hybrid corn variety CH370204 comprising the steps of:
- (a) introducing at least the heritable trait into at least a first inbred corn variety selected from the group consisting of variety CV209625 and variety CV871614 to produce a plant of the first inbred corn variety that heritably carries the heritable trait, wherein the heritable trait is introduced into said first inbred corn variety by backcrossing and wherein representative seed of variety CV209625 and variety CV871614 have been deposited under ATCC Accession numbers PTA-123810 and PTA-123820, respectively;
- and
- (b) crossing the plant of the first inbred corn variety that heritably carries the heritable trait with a plant of a different variety selected from said group consisting of CV209625 and CV871614 to produce a plant of said hybrid corn variety CH370204 further comprising at least the heritable trait.
