Abstract
A lighting fixture includes a solid-state light source, communications circuitry, and control circuitry coupled to the communications circuitry and the solid-state light source. The control circuitry is configured to receive a message from a neighboring device via the communications circuitry, the message indicating the detection of an occupancy event by the neighboring device. Further, the control circuitry is configured to adjust a light output provided by the solid-state light source based on a neighbor ranking of the neighboring device, wherein the neighbor ranking indicates a number of intermediate devices located between the lighting fixture and the neighboring device.
Claims14
A lighting fixture comprising:
- a solid-state light source;
- communications circuitry;
- and
- control circuitry coupled to the communications circuitry and the solid-state light source and configured to:
- receive a message from a neighboring device via the communications circuitry,
- the message indicating a detection of an occupancy event by the neighboring device;
- maintain a plurality of occupancy timers, each associated with occupancy events detected by neighboring devices with a different neighbor ranking, wherein each one of the different neighbor rankings defines a number of intermediate devices located between the lighting fixture and the neighboring devices;
- and
- adjust a light output provided by the solid-state light source based on at least one of the plurality of occupancy timers.
A lighting fixture comprising:
- a solid-state light source;
- communications circuitry;
- and
- control circuitry coupled to the communications circuitry and the solid-state light source and configured to:
- receive a message from a neighboring device via the communications circuitry,
- wherein the message indicates the detection of an occupancy event by the neighboring device and the neighboring device is associated with a neighbor ranking that is based on a number of intermediate devices located between the lighting fixture and the neighboring device;
- maintain a plurality of occupancy timers, each associated with a different neighbor ranking;
- and
- set or reset one of the plurality of occupancy timers associated with the neighbor ranking of the neighboring device in response to receipt of the message.
