Abstract
The invention encompasses methods and compositions for predicting the risk of metastasis. In particular, the invention encompasses a method for correlating the level of expression of one or more nucleic acid sequences with a risk of metastasis.
Claims7
A method of detecting expression levels of nucleic acid sequences in a melanoma tumor in a subject, the method comprising contacting a tumor sample obtained from the subject with a nucleic acid array consisting of nucleic acid sequences that hybridize specifically to at least eight nucleic acid nucleic acid sequences and up to twelve nucleic acid sequences, wherein the at least eight nucleic acid nucleic acid sequences and up to twelve nucleic acid sequences include MTUS1 and at least seven sequences selected from the group of nucleic acids consisting of CDH1, ECM1, EIF1 B, FXR1, HTR2B, ID2, LMCD1, LTA4H, RAB31, ROBO1, and SATB1 and detecting the level of expression of the at least eight nucleic acid sequences and up to twelve nucleic acid sequences nucleic acid sequences in the tumor sample from the subject.
