A fluoropolyether-containing polymer-modified silane having the general formula (1):

• wherein Rf is a monovalent fluorooxyalkyl or divalent fluorooxyalkylene-containing polymer residue, A is a group having a structure of formula:
• wherein E is a monovalent organic group, Y is a divalent to hexavalent hydrocarbon group which may contain a siloxane bond or silylene group, R is independently a C1-C4 alkyl group or phenyl group, X is independently a hydroxyl group or hydrolyzable group, n is an integer of 1 to 3, m is an integer of 1 to 5, and α is 1 or 2.
