Abstract
The present invention relates to the identification of compounds and pharmaceutical compositions thereof for treating subjects with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and other neurodegenerative diseases. The invention also provides methods of preparing the provided compounds.

A compound selected from compounds of a formula
- wherein each of R1-R4 is independently selected from H, alkyl, cycloalkyl, alkylsulfonyl, alkylcarbonyl, aryl, arylalkyl, alkenylalkyl and alkynylalkyl moieties;
- each of R′1-R′4 is independently selected from H, alkyl, amino, alkylamino, alkylsulfonyl, alkylcarbonyl, alkoxy, alkoxycarbonyl, cyano, and halo moieties;
- m is an integer selected from 0-3, and n is an integer selected from 1-3;
- and salts, tautomers and combinations thereof.

- each of R′1 and R′3 is independently selected from H, alkyl, amino, alkylamino, alkylsulfonyl, alkylcarbonyl, alkoxy, alkoxycarbonyl, cyano, and halo moieties;
- and m is 0-1 and n is 1-2, and salts, tautomers and combinations thereof.
