Abstract
The invention relates generally to the fields of biology and life sciences. More particularly, the invention relates to compositions and methods for modulating cellular physiology and pathological processing using a combination of compounds that can be found in morselized amniotic membrane tissue and morselized umbilical cord tissue preparations.

A method for treating an ocular wound or repairing damaged ocular tissue in an individual in need thereof, comprising:
- administering to the individual a therapeutically effective amount of a gel composition comprising:
- a) a therapeutically effective amount of i) morselized placental amniotic membrane and ii) morselized umbilical cord;
- and
- b) a pharmaceutically-acceptable excipient;
- wherein the morselized placental amniotic membrane and the morselized umbilical cord have a particle size of between about 0.1 mm to about 1.0 cm in length, width, and thickness.

A method for treating an ocular wound or repairing a damaged ocular tissue in an individual in need thereof, comprising:
- applying to the individual an apparatus comprising (a) an inert support, and (b) a gel composition comprising morselized placental amniotic membrane, morselized umbilical cord, or a combination thereof;
- wherein the morselized placental amniotic membrane and the morselized umbilical cord have a particle size of between about 0.1 mm to about 1.0 cm in length, width, and thickness.
