Abstract
According to the invention, there is provided seed and plants of the hybrid corn variety designated CH541984. The invention thus relates to the plants, seeds and tissue cultures of the variety CH541984, and to methods for producing a corn plant produced by crossing a corn plant of variety CH541984 with itself or with another corn plant, such as a plant of another variety. The invention further relates to genetic complements of plants of variety CH541984.
Claims21
A seed of hybrid corn variety CH541984, produced by crossing a first plant of variety CV037408 with a second plant of variety CV052865, wherein representative seed of said varieties CV037408 and CV052865 have been deposited under ATCC Accession numbers PTA-123054 and PTA-123058, respectively.
A seed of hybrid corn variety CH541984, produced by crossing a first plant of variety CV037408 with a second plant of variety CV052865, wherein representative seed of said varieties CV037408 and CV052865 have been deposited under ATCC Accession numbers PTA-123054 and PTA-123058, respectively, further comprising at least a first transgene.
A seed of hybrid corn variety CH541984 further comprising a first single locus conversion, produced by crossing a first plant of variety CV037408 with a second plant of variety CV052865, wherein representative seed of said varieties CV037408 and CV052865 have been deposited under ATCC Accession numbers PTA-123054 and PTA-123058, respectively, and wherein one or both of the first plant and second plant further comprises the single locus conversion, and wherein a plant grown from said seed comprises a trait conferred by said first single locus conversion.
A method of introducing a heritable trait into hybrid corn variety CH541984 comprising the steps of:
- (a) introducing a first heritable trait into at least one inbred corn variety selected from the group consisting of variety CV037408 and variety CV052865 to produce a plant of the first inbred corn variety that heritably carries the trait, wherein the heritable trait is introduced into said first inbred corn variety by backcrossing and wherein representative samples of seed of variety CV037408 and variety CV052865 have been deposited under ATCC Accession numbers PTA-123054 and PTA-123058, respectively;
- and
- (b) crossing a plant of the first inbred corn variety that heritably carries the trait with a plant of a different variety selected from said group consisting of CV037408 and CV052865 to produce a plant of hybrid corn variety CH541984 comprising the heritable trait.
