Abstract
A method and an apparatus is provided for terminating an enhanced random access channel (E-RACH) message in an E-RACH transmission. Triggers for terminating the E-RACH message are provided. The actions upon termination of the E-RACH messages are provided to release enhanced dedicated channel (E-DCH) resources while in cell forward access channel (CELL_FACH) state or transition to cell dedicated channel (CELL_DCH) state.
Claims33
An apparatus comprising:
- a receiver;
- a transmitter;
- a processor, wherein the processor:
- allocates an enhanced uplink (EU) resource and an associated hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) process for a wireless transmit receive unit (WTRU) based on a request received from the WTRU by the receiver;
- and
- releases the allocated EU resource when a scheduling information (SI) is received from the WTRU by the receiver with a total Enhanced Dedicated Channel (E-DCH) buffer status (TEBS) equal to zero and a HARQ transmission associated with the HARQ process is completed.
A method comprising:
- allocating an enhanced uplink (EU) resource and an associated hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) process for the WTRU based on a request received from the WTRU;
- and
- releasing the allocated EU resource when a scheduling information (SI) is received from the WTRU with a total Enhanced Dedicated Channel (E-DCH) buffer status (TEBS) equal to zero and a HARQ transmission associated with the HARQ process is completed.
A wireless communication system comprising:
- a plurality of base stations, wherein at least one of the plurality of base stations includes:
- a wireless receiver;
- a wireless transmitter;
- and
- a processor, wherein the processor:
- allocates an enhanced uplink (EU) resource and an associated hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) process for a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU);
- and
- releases the allocated EU resource when a scheduling information (SI) is received from the WTRU by the wireless receiver with a total Enhanced Dedicated Channel (E-DCH) buffer status (TEBS) equal to zero and a HARQ transmission associated with the HARQ process is completed.
A method comprising:
- allocating, by a wireless network, an enhanced uplink (EU) resource and an associated hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) process for a wireless transmit/receive (WTRU);
- and
- releasing, by the wireless network, the allocated EU resource when a scheduling information (SI) is received from the WTRU with a total Enhanced Dedicated Channel (E-DCH) buffer status (TEBS) equal to zero and a HARQ transmission associated with the HARQ process is completed.
A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) comprising:
- a receiver;
- a transmitter;
- a processor, wherein the processor:
- requests an enhanced uplink (EU) resource from a wireless network;
- and
- releases an allocated EU resource when transmission of a scheduling information (SI) including a total Enhanced Dedicated Channel (E-DCH) buffer status (TEBS) equal to zero has been made and a hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) transmission is completed.
A method comprising:
- requesting, by a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU), an enhanced uplink (EU) resource from a wireless network;
- and
- releasing, by the WTRU, an allocated EU resource when transmission of a scheduling information (SI) including a total Enhanced Dedicated Channel (E-DCH) buffer status (TEBS) equal to zero has been made and a hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) transmission is completed.
