Abstract
A method includes transmitting a random access preamble, receiving a random access response as a response of the random access preamble, wherein the random access response comprises an uplink resource assignment and a request for transmission of a Channel Quality Indicator (CQI), and transmitting the CQI in the uplink resource assignment.
Claims10
A method of performing a random access procedure in a wireless communication system, the method performed by a user equipment and comprising:
- selecting a random access preamble from a plurality of random access preamble groups;
- transmitting the selected random access preamble;
- determining a Random Access Radio Network Temporary (RA-RNTI) by using a time domain index indicating a subframe for transmitting the random access preamble and a frequency domain index indicating a frequency domain resource for transmitting the random access preamble;
- monitoring a downlink control channel by using the determined RA-RNTI to receive a random access response comprising an uplink resource assignment;
- and
- in response to the random access response, transmitting a scheduled message via an uplink shared channel by using the uplink resource assignment.

- a Radio Frequency (RF) unit for transmitting and receiving radio signals;
- and
- a processor coupled with the RF unit and configured to:
- select a random access preamble from a plurality of random access preamble groups;
- transmit the selected random access preamble;
- determine a Random Access Radio Network Temporary (RA-RNTI) by using a time domain index indicating a subframe for transmitting the random access preamble and a frequency domain index indicating a frequency domain resource for transmitting the random access preamble;
- monitor a downlink control channel by using the determined RA-RNTI to receive a random access response comprising an uplink resource assignment;
- and
- in response to the random access response, transmit a scheduled message via an uplink shared channel by using the uplink resource assignment.
