Abstract
Performing detection of a synchronization beacon. The UE may include a first radio which supports, e.g., simultaneously, a first radio access technology (RAT) and a second RAT. The UE may perform transmission according to the first RAT on the first radio with a base station. The UE may receive a request to perform a tune-away to detect a synchronization beacon on the second RAT. The synchronization beacon may repetitively occur in successive first time periods. The UE may repeatedly perform a search for the synchronization beacon in different sub-portions over successive first time periods. The search may be repeatedly performed until the synchronization beacon is located in a respective sub-portion of one of the successive time periods.

An apparatus for configuration within a user equipment device (UE) comprising a first radio, wherein the first radio is configurable to operate according to a first radio access technology (RAT) and a second RAT, comprising:
- one or more processing elements, configured to:
- operate the first radio of the UE according to the first RAT;
- operate the first radio according to the second RAT, wherein the first radio has a lesser frequency of sleep and wake-up cycles when operating according to the first RAT than when operating according to the second RAT, wherein the first radio uses a first clock for each of the first RAT and the second RAT
- when the radio is operating according to the first RAT, perform a frequency error estimate (FEE) of the first clock and adjusting the first clock based on the FEE, wherein performing the FEE and adjusting the first clock when operating according to the first RAT operates to reduce a frequency of the radio performing a FEE and adjusting the first clock when operating according to the second RAT.
A user equipment device (UE) configured to perform selective neighbor cell measurement, comprising:
- an oscillator;
- a first radio coupled to the oscillator, wherein the first radio is configured to perform communication using a first radio access technology (RAT) and a second RAT and maintain a connection to both the first RAT and the second RAT, and wherein the first radio uses the oscillator for both the first RAT and the second RAT;
- and
- one or more processors coupled to the first radio, wherein the one or more processors and the first radio are configured to:
- operate the first radio of the UE according to the first RAT;
An apparatus for configuration within a user equipment device (UE) comprising a first radio, wherein the first radio is configurable to operate according to a first radio access technology (RAT) and a second RAT, comprising:
- one or more processing elements, configured to:
- configure the first radio using first software associated with the first RAT;
- configure the first radio using second software associated with the second RAT, wherein the first software operates the first radio with a lesser frequency of sleep and wake-up cycles for the first RAT than the second software operates the first radio for the second RAT;
- when the radio is configured using the first software and operating according to the first RAT, the first software performing a frequency error estimate (FEE) of a first clock and adjusting the first clock based on the FEE, wherein the first software performing the FEE operates to reduce a frequency of the second software performing a FEE.
